Home studio on a budget
I don’t know about you but I’m a hungry artist. I never gave a shit about it being glamorous as long as I could get it done.
I can’t sand the idea of a creative thought being stuck in my head and not being created. In the early 90’s I would buy Cassette
singles with instrumentals on them and rap over them from a Karaoke Machine. Thats how bad I wanted to record.
In this blog I will give you informattion on how to record good music on a budget.
What do you need for recording your music on your own? You might be surprised to find it doesn’t take much theses days
to turn your own bed room into a recording studio here’s what you need.
1. Computer. You don’t need anything extravagant just something with decent ram and hard drive space to store your music.
You can also store music on a flash or external drive if you need to.
Cost to you $150-$300
2. Microphone. I started with a stage mic that I got from RadioShack for $50 you can just ad a little when mixing my song I
just eq it a bit and ad a little reverb and got it blinding with the instrumental good.
Cost to you $50-$80
3. Software. Also known as a digital audio workstation you need recording software to record vocals and edit with. I recommend
Magix Music Maker software for newbies its good quality user friendly and most important cheap you can
find it at BestBuy there’s also fruity loops and other software but I just like Magix
Cost to you $50-$70
4. Head Phones. Not ear buds, the real big ass old FBI phone tap head phones to get a full feel of the sound while you record your vocals.
You don’t need beats by Dre. Just something to wear so you can hear yourself record vocals otherwise if you are not using headphones the
music from the speaker will be in your recording making mixing messy. You can get decent headphones cheap
