This is how I design print and assemble the CD jackets and Jewel Cases for my physical music projects.
I’ve been dealing with Microsoft Publisher ever since the 1990s. As well as Adobe Photoshop. Photoshop is mostly used for graphic design. But when I need to print out labels such as cassette tapes CDs DVDs envelopes for newsletters I use Microsoft Publisher. I believe this is good for independent recording artist who are looking to reduce physical copies of their content but do not have access to their own personal computer because you can use workstations at local print shops you think it is going to be this nice thing that already have the software’s installed in their computers.
In this video blog I show how I create my very own CD jackets that I sell on the streets. In brief detail I show how easy it is to design your own front and back panel cover art using preset templates in the publishing program that I use to put together my CD jackets. I also go over my cut and fold technique after for after the printed Graphics come out of the machine. I fancy myself a young Henry Ford who’s model was to manufacture his product in an assembly line and sell it to the consumer at a affordable price.
