In this video blog me the homie Byron and the homie Lamar do a freestyle session we do this all the time and have been doing this for years we pile up in the car or the living room put on some Beats from a YouTube playlist and just go to town. My freestyle sessions are not as often as they once were we’re back in the day I would freestyle everyday these days I probably freestyle once every couple of months. That’s why I’m thankful for the homie Lamar who always encourages me keep the sword sharpened.
Off the top freestyle sessions are a rarity and Hip Hop these days not to knock a prepared 16-bar verse for a nice session which I do quite often but the art of just coming up with something out of thin air is lost on a lot of the younger generation. Back in the lunch rooms and bus stops where I honed my skills we would just look at something and rap about it while beating on the table at the glass. It’s a good practice for the up-and-coming MC and I gained a lot of skill doing so.
