Cass Corridor Image Gallery

Lewis Cass was governor of the Michigan territories between 1813 and 1831. That’s six years before Michigan officially became a state, this guy was also a senator for the state of Michigan between 1849 and 1857. With such an extensive term in politics and a mug like that, I would say that this gentleman would probably drink you under the table. Anyway Lewis Cass is the fella that Cass Avenue is named after hence he is the fella that Cass Corridor is named after just some interesting shit.

The Cass corridor home of Detroit landmarks such as Cass Technical High School, The Masonic temple, The Temple bar. Recently they added the Little Caesars Arena home of the Red Wings and pistons. Have you ever seen the South Park episode SoDoSoPa town ? In a nutshell that’s what happened to the Cass Corridor in Detroit. Back in the 90s I remember riding on the Dexter bus through the Cass Corridor and boy was it a shit hole. You can throw a rock in the air and whoever it landed on you could buy dope from them. The strawberry Showgirls on Temple Street could suck the venom out of a snake bite. My kind of neighborhood !!!! As of recently there have been major changes to this neighborhood maybe even try to change the name to Midtown Detroit. Now the area has bars a sports stadium white people jogging and shit. My uncle got out of prison after 20 years went to Cass Avenue and said where’d all the crack go LOL

The image below is a recently open bicycle shop on Peterboro between Cass and 3rd. This stretch of land was almost unwalkable without a infantry backing you up back in the days. Now new development is starting to emerge.
