Dequindre Cut Image Gallery

Every summer there is a concert series at the Dequindre cut called the D Cipher series my wife always takes our daughter and sometimes even convinces me to go. today I did not feel like going anywhere. Somehow the old lady convinced me to roll with them to the Dequindre cut and I decided to take some pictures.

history behind the Dequindre cut.

For as long as I can remember the Dequindre cut area was a railroad line that has been abandoned for years. It was a notorious graffiti spot. In fact the only people who I can think of ever going there where graffiti artist. It is a stretch of land on Detroit East Side near Saint Alburn street between At Water street and Mack Avenue. It was once a thriving train hub operated by grand trunk rail way. Around 2013 construction began on a urban renewal Greenway project and the Dequindre cut was born. Below are a couple of images of what is left of the old bridges that were once used to cross the railway they are now Stubbs.
